Our Story

Founded in 2012 by Rob Valuck, Chris Ennis, and Bob Goodman, RxAssurance Corporation was established to help healthcare organizations improve medication safety through better clinical decision support, analytics, and patient engagement.

The company's first solution, OpiSafe™ Clinical Decision Support, was developed in response to the growing opioid epidemic, providing real-time prescribing guidance, prescription monitoring, risk assessment, and compliance tools embedded directly within electronic medical record (EMR) workflows. Following the launch of OpiSafe in 2015, the Company expanded its innovation efforts beyond clinical decision support into overdose prevention and treatment engagement.

Early recognition of this work came through national innovation competitions. In 2015, RxAssurance won first place in the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Opioid Overdose Prevention Challenge, where the Company's concept for OpiRescue™ was recognized as the winning solution. In 2018, RxAssurance was also selected as a semifinalist and $200,000 prize winner in the Ohio Opioid Technology Challenge, further validating its approach to technology-enabled opioid stewardship and patient engagement.

In 2018, RxAssurance was awarded its first statewide contract with Colorado Medicaid to support safer opioid prescribing and medication stewardship initiatives. The program was successfully recompeted and renewed in 2023 and is currently operating under its second five-year agreement, providing real-world evidence of the platform's clinical and economic impact.

As the needs of providers, health systems, payers, and government agencies evolved, so did the company. What began as a clinical decision support solution has grown into the RxAdvisor™ Medication Management Platform—a modular, enterprise platform supporting medication management across the entire prescribing lifecycle.

RxAssurance has developed a growing portfolio of issued and pending U.S. patents protecting innovations in treatment navigation, adaptive deprescribing, medication management, and clinical decision support. The Company generates recurring SaaS revenue through partnerships with healthcare providers, health systems, Medicaid programs, and government healthcare agencies.

Looking ahead, RxAssurance continues to expand the RxAdvisor Platform through strategic partnerships, responsible AI, and ongoing innovation. Recent collaborations—including the Company's strategic partnership with Cliexa to integrate AI-enabled opioid risk prediction—reflect its commitment to building the next generation of medication management technology for providers, payers, and public health organizations.
